Murder, Literal, Abortive, Escape?
The same words are used to justify murdering Jesus and killing Laban in the BoM. Also, how did Nephi cut off Laban's head without getting tell-tale traces of blood on himself or on Laban's clothes?
Prophesies in the BoM are far too literal as far as names, dates, and places. Isaiah 44:28 & 45:1 has been criticized for similar reasons, but the BoM goes much further (1 Nephi for example).
The writings at the end of the BoM sound like an abortive attempt at church government that was replaced by the D&C. (It would have been very difficult for Joseph Smith to continue adding more epistles from Mormon to his Son after the book was published).
All of Zedekiah's sons were killed in his sight before he was blinded (2K25:7). This doesn't leave much chance of one son leaving at the time of Jerusalem's final fall.
